Contact Making Seminar “Let’s Connect”

YMDRAB organized an international contact making seminar for youth workers called “Let’s Connect”. The seminar aims to improve the quality of work in rural youth centers by developing networking competencies and building youth workers' community around the idea of innovation. The seminar took place from 20th to 28th November 2022 in Bakuriani, Georgia and was hosted by our good partner organisation UMBRELLA. The seminar brought together 24 youth workers from 8 countries – Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Spain and Portugal.

The participants:

  • explored the challenges/needs of rural youth and looked for solutions via cooperation and innovation in the field of youth work;
  • established a network of rural youth workers and collaboration among them;
  • shared good practices in rural youth work including digital tools applied to the rural youth centers;
  • created a booklet with good practices for rural youth work;
  • developed an action plan to promote networking and raise quality of work in rural youth centers;
  • explored further possibilities for cooperation on this topic within the “Erasmus+” Programme.

The seminar was facilitated by competent trainer and facilitators and included non-formal and informal learning methodology with indoor and outdoor activities from various manuals. A short video of the training can be found HERE.

As a result of the project a practical booklet for youth workers was developed which will be spread both within the participating organizations and youth workers and beyond on local, national and international levels. The project impacted positively youth workers and rural youth centers they operate in. A network of rural youth workers community was set up and a joint project proposal (rural youth exchange on the topic of digital participation) was prepared to submit to Erasmus+.

The project is co-funded by Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
