YMDRAB was awarded the prize “Best Practice of 2012” by the “Youth in Action” Programme

On 12th March 2013 in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia was held the Annual Evaluation Meeting of the “Youth in Action” Programme and the European Information Network “Eurodesk” for 2012 in Bulgaria. The event was attended by the Director and all experts from the Programme in Bulgaria, more than 150 deputies of youth organisations, which have been financed during 2012, the Eurodesk coordinators from the whole country as well as a great number of official guests both from Bulgaria and abroad. The Deputy Minister of education, youth and science, Mrs Petia Evtimova, was the special guest of the annual meeting who greeted all the participants.

During the ceremony the achievements of the developed projects were estimated in facts and figures. Furthermore, the most successful projects were awarded with the prize “Best Practice of 2012”. We are extremely proud of the fact that the project of YMDRAB, “Let’s give a helping hand” was selected as “Best practice of 2012” amongst the first three projects (like in the Oscars :) in the category “Training and Networking”. In recognition of the effort and the effectiveness of the work, YMDRAB received a glass statuette from the Director of the “Youth in Action” Programme Bulgaria and a diploma from the Deputy Minister of education, youth and science. On behalf of the organisation, the vice-president Yonko Dodev accepted the award and expressed his satisfaction and gratitude by giving a speech to the attendants.

“Youth in action” is the European program with one of the highest rates of consumption of resources in Bulgaria, namely 99, 23%. In terms of its effectiveness, “Youth in Action” Bulgaria takes the sixth place amongst 33 program countries. All YiA projects in Bulgaria are estimated to the value of 3 100 000 euros and involve 5 887 young people. Having taken into account the intense competition, the success of YMDRAD acquires a significant importance and can be considered outstanding. Therefore, it increases our confidence and enthusiasm for future development and even more active and ambitious participation in the youth environment.

In 2013, we have applied within “Youth in Action” with a new project. It is called “Let me be One of You!”. It is a continuation of the awarded project from the last year, “Let’s give a helping hand!”.

What is more, the representatives of YMDRAB had the opportunity to visit the “National Day of the career” and to participate in the interactive performance of “Youth in Action”, which were conducted simultaneously with the Annual meeting for evaluation.

In conclusion, we would like to wish you to experience the same feeling of proud and excitement from the appreciation of your effort as we did when we received the award prize “Best Practice 2012”. We know that you deserve it!
